This wire sculpture of a rat may have some appeal to animal lovers and art enthusiasts seeking a unique conversation piece!
Mounted on a wooden base it measures around 15cm long and 12cm tall.
Although much maligned, it is interesting to note that Aotearoa has no native rats, but three types came with early sailors: the kiore (Rattus exulans), which is the smallest, the Norway rat (Rattus norvegicus, also called the brown rat), which is the biggest, and the ship rat (Rattus rattus — also called the black rat), which is the most common.
